Have you ever wondered who people are looking for when they dream of perfect shape and demand a healthy body? It's quite possible that it could be you. Hand in hand with this, however, is the behavior that every coach should meet. Everyone is different and different things work for everyone, but what are the constants?
Do you want to be or are you already a fitness trainer? Then the following lines will certainly be useful and appealing to you. If you are on the path to success, you probably already master most of them perfectly. However, if you are not able to find clients, then the methods and behaviors mentioned in this article can help. We will not go into details, we will tell you everything directly. It is not important to know everything theoretically, experience and therefore enough practice are important. But you already know that from exercising…
Don't talk, don't write, but work with your clients.
The first absolutely essential advice is easy for everyone to understand. If you want to be a perfect coach, you certainly won't become one in an online conversation. Quite often I meet coaches who only talk to their trainees, but leave the exercise to them. While they are busy with other clients or, God forbid, disappear from the gym completely. That's not how it works… Sit down with the client, discuss the training and do the whole thing with them. Point out mistakes, motivate and don't forget to share experiences. A few such lessons will bring incredible progress to the client. Once they master everything, feel free to let them train alone according to the agreed plan. But always be helpful. After all, everything is about relationships…
It doesn't end with training.
Many satisfied clients also appreciate remote support. Once you finish training, be available to your customers on social networks as well. As a coach, you can send them interesting videos with exercises or motivation, or recommend playlists on Spotify and the like. After all, they want to do exactly what you love. They have you as a role model and coach, be it!
Be strict, but don't overdo it.
Every coach is different, and that's your magic. Simply train in a way that you enjoy, and don't hold back. You will probably find clients and get your carousel spinning at full speed. But never forget that clients are the ones who allow you to live your dream. Therefore, be consistent, precise, and demand results. At the same time, learn to forgive, or overlook client personality types. They will try to surprise you, show you what new things they have learned and how well they are doing. They will not pay for someone they will not listen to. And if they do, then it's purely up to you whether you tolerate this cooperation. If not, don't be afraid to simply fire the client.
You can also make a mistake.
No one is born knowing everything. So don't be afraid to admit that you simply don't know sometimes. The whole point is for you to be at least as honest with your client as they will be with you. You need to build a trusting relationship that will help you overcome many obstacles. Another small warning, keep in mind that everyone will not be the same and the same thing will not apply to everyone. Therefore, be a professional and work with your clients as best you can, no matter who they are. It is not uncommon for a coach to be able to recognize a client's potential and even transform the behavior of a complete ignorant during the process into something much better. You are changing people's lives, that is your job. So take it that way…
Be an optimist and celebrate small victories.
Especially in the beginning, clients need the most motivation. Remember your beginnings, when every extra kilometer, kilo, or repetition improved the day and the training. Give that to your clients too. If you create that feeling of happiness in them, they will return to you with enthusiasm. At the same time, you will probably lose a lot of work related to motivation, the client will realize what they are striving for and how good it is doing them in life.
Finally, we remind you to be yourself in all circumstances and not to pretend to be someone else. If you don't click with a client and your cooperation ends in its infancy, you probably saved a lot of unnecessary time. No one likes pretentious coaches, so don't be one. Feel free to find a role model in another coach, even on television. Then you will see that being honest and yourself brings results. So good luck and most importantly, satisfied clients!
