Why do women need different training than men? Because they have a different body type than men. They also have less strength and a different body disposition. It is somewhat more difficult to build muscle on a woman's body, and women are also bothered by fat in different areas than men. While men tend to gain belly fat, women usually also see an increase in their thighs and buttocks.
For women, building a nice figure is more complicated than for men. When the body is almost perfectly toned, children arrive, and they may have to start training all over again. A beautiful body is not free, but it will boost self-confidence and help you be happy with yourself. So, how should women exercise?
Don't underestimate strength training
Are you afraid of lifting weights because you don't want to look like a man? That's nonsense! Women also need to combine aerobic exercise (e.g., running) with strength training (e.g., weightlifting). Aerobic activities burn calories, but you also need to strengthen your body, and strength training helps with that. It's not necessary to go to the gym; you can also exercise at home with your own body weight. However, at the gym, you can arrange training sessions with a professional fitness trainer, which will have a greater effect than home exercise.
Choose your beloved activity
Have you ever seen a man dancing Zumba? Probably not. Women don't just have to sweat in the gym; there are many sports activities! Don't be afraid to choose one specifically for women. Try Zumba, dance, yoga, etc. If you sign up for classes specifically for women, you might feel more comfortable there.
Focus on problem areas
Maybe you just want a nice toned belly, but even in that case, it's not enough to only exercise your abs. You need to burn overall body fat, so full-body exercises are useful. Of course, women have it harder because they have to focus on problem areas. Do exercises targeting the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and arms, because sagging skin on the arms is a common female problem. However, don't forget about full-body activities either. Alternate your exercises with running, cycling, rollerblading, dancing.
Exercise with women or find a trainer
So, what exercises will help you with problem areas? For example, the following:
- abs: sit-ups, crunches, plank
- glutes: squats, lunges
- arms: superman, push-ups
Today, you can find many different videos and guides on how to exercise online. However, not all of them will suit you. Find an exercise that you enjoy and that makes you feel exhausted afterward. Exercise that doesn't tire you out doesn't have enough effect.
When searching online, it's better to exercise with female fitness trainers – they know what's good for the fairer sex. Men's goal is usually to gain muscle mass, have a toned six-pack, and muscular arms. Women are looking for something different, and the training needs to be adapted to that.
However, you never know if the woman you're exercising with is an expert or if she just made up the exercises. So, if you really want to get rid of fat in problematic female areas, it's better to rely on a fitness advisor. A qualified trainer knows the exercises that will help you inside out. You are not the first or the last person who needs to lose fat in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. It's a completely normal thing for women.
